Blueberry Systems, LLC designed the Relay™ system to be a fully functioning, feature rich mortgage lending production system right out of the box! Of course, you are free to customize nearly every aspect of the system to meet your specific needs. Some of our key features that are available to you right away include:

Intuitive, Powerful User Interface
The Relay™ system was designed using a familiar Microsoft® Outlook look and feel. Most users already use Microsoft® Outlook for managing tasks, appointments and e-mails. This means they already know the basics of navigating the Relay™ system. This reduces training time and costs.

We also added a revolutionary twist to the process of selecting and opening loans. Each time the user logs into the Relay™ system they are presented with a spreadsheet style grid that lists each of the loans they have access to. This grid provides powerful tools for selection, filtering, grouping and ordering that lets the user see the loans they are most interested in, using the order they choose. These views can be customized at the corporate level all the way down to the user level, giving the user unprecedented control over the loans they are working with.
Fully Extensible Mortgage Lending Database
Our system is built on a robust Microsoft® SQL database. The database has been designed to be MISMO compliant and contains nearly 8000 mortgage transaction fields. Of course you are free to add additional tables and fields or modify the existing fields. With our built in data dictionary your changes can be integrated seamlessly and easily.
User Definable Data Entry Screens
Relay™ has been designed with a revolutionary tool set for creating and deploying custom data entry screens. Our system utilizes Microsoft® InfoPath to provide an easy to use tool to design professional data entry screens. InfoPath is a standard Microsoft® product that comes as part of the Microsoft® Office Professional Suite. With this tool, data entry screens can be created by non-technical personnel in as little as ten minutes! Once the screen has been designed in InfoPath, it is imported and converted into a data entry screen using simple point and click tools within the Relay™ system. This is not some overly simplified screen template tool that forces you to create rigid data entry templates. These are the very same tools used by our developers to create the core data entry screens shipped as part of the Relay™ system.

An extensive set of data entry screens has been designed into the Relay™ system using mortgage lending best practices. These screens include data entry for loan application, processing, underwriting, closing, lock desk and secondary marketing, post closing and shipping and accounting information. Using our revolutionary design tools, you can add your own custom screens into the Relay™ system or, modify the existing screens to meet your needs.
Sophisticated Business Process Management Tools
Workflow or Business Process Management often draws negative criticism in the mortgage industry. That's because too many systems created overly oppressive workflow rules that hindered or even prevented staff from getting the important work done. When we were designing the Relay™ system, we knew that we wanted to bring order and process to the mortgage workflow without impeding on the built in efficiencies that staff members were capable of. We also wanted to be able to have multiple people in multiple departments working on the same loan transaction simultaneously.

So, we created Relay™ Stations. The Stations tool provides the platform to allow the lender to determine how a loan moves through their production environment, what users get to see the loan and what abilities they have within that loan. Using this tool set, you can create global business process management rules or extremely granular rules for specific purposes. The choice is yours and Relay™ provides the tools to make managing workflow painless.
Advanced Task Management Tools
The Relay™ Task Management System offers several key benefits that help to lower your cost per loan, improve the user experience and provide improved regulatory compliance. Starting with a dynamic task generator that automatically generates department specific tasks for a loan based on the rules and business processes you define. This means that users only see tasks that are specific to them and the given parameters for the loan they are working with.

Next, tasks can be automatically integrated into the user's Microsoft® Outlook account and show up as either an appointment or an Outlook Task. The Task Management System will automatically send out dynamic e-mail notifications to the groups and individuals you choose whenever a task is assigned, completed or started.

Lastly, you can make any of the fields in the Relay™ database a filter criteria for when a task is automatically generated, including your own custom fields.
Integrated Business Rules Management System (BRMS)
Fully integrated into the Relay™ system is our event driven business rules management system. Your Relay™ system comes to you with a standard set of business rules already created and implemented based on mortgage lending best practices. From there you are free to use the rules and they are already implemented, or, add new rules and even change existing rules to more closely tailor the system to meet your needs.

Our business rules engine is a complete suite of sophisticated suite of tools aimed at providing a high level of control and functionality. Starting with the rule event trigger, you can define what events within your loan should trigger a business rule. From there, you can use any of the fields within the system, including your own custom fields, to determine if a loan meets the criteria for a particular loan. Within the rule definition, you can determine the course of action the rule engine should take if the rule passes, fails or issues a warning. Each response can be custom tailored to update data fields, provide feedback to the user, run defined processes including interfaces to third parties and e-mail notification.

These tools assure that you get better regulatory compliance, lower cost per loan and streamlined processes as you use your Relay™ system.
Application Program Interface (API)
A unique feature of the Relay™ system is the built in Application Program Interface. This is an optional tool set that lets each customer adapt the system more completely to their individual needs. This tool allows your programming staff to write Microsoft® .NET assemblies and integrate them directly into the Relay™ application.

The assemblies can be integrated into the Relay™ system at a variety of points allowing you to create an infinite array of possibilities to extend the Relay™ system or integrate your own custom applications.
Innovative "Smart Key" Technology
Smart Keys are special, extensible data dictionary keys that are built into the Relay™ system. These keys are used in everything from reporting to selecting which loans are available to which users. They give the system the ability to understand who is using the system, what the relevant date information is (period to date, etc) and then adapt to meet those needs. Instead of developing a report for each loan officer, Smart Keys allow you to create a single report and the Relay™ system will automatically select the records for the current user. Instead of asking the users to fill in date ranges for reports, a Smart Key can automatically calculate month to date values and enter them for you. This technology greatly simplifies the management of the system and reduces the overall cost of ownership.
Automated Transaction Audit Logging
Built into your Relay™ system is a customizable, tunable transaction audit logging module. This module utilizes the underlying SQL database engine to automatically record every change to every field in the system.

Unlike other systems, even when data is updated by a third party or trading partner the changes are logged to the system. The information includes the date and time of the change, the table and field being changed, the old value, the new value and the name of the user initiating the change. An added feature allows the lender to determine which fields and tables to audit through a simple user interface. Providing a mechanism to balance performance and audit trails.

These are just a few of the key features built into the Relay™ Application Integration Platform. Click the link below to find out more of the functionality of our system, or give us a call to schedule a demonstration of the system and see for yourself.
